Courses
- 8.75 hours: Includes passing the course exam (70% or higher).
- What will you learn? This course covers the fundamentals of diet, macronutrients, specific diets, cooking and storage of foods, food allergies, dietary changes and includes an interactive case.
- 7.75 hours: Includes passing the course exam (70% or higher).
- What will you learn? An overview of phytochemicals with known or potential benefits, including a discussion of "Super Foods."
- 8.75 hours: Includes passing the course exam (70% or higher).
- What will you learn? Explore the components of an anti-inflammatory diet, how food can positively and negatively impact inflammation of the body and how that relates to health. Learn about the conditions influenced by inflammation and diet.
- 8.5 hours: Includes passing the course exam (70% or higher)
- What will you learn? This curriculum will provide practitioners with an understanding of the central role of nutrition as it pertains to cardiovascular health and disease by providing a scientific basis for the integration of nutrition and medicine in the practice of preventive and therapeutic nutritional cardiovascular medicine.
- 2.25 hours: Includes completion of the self-care assignment and report.
- What will you learn? Review your eating habits. Assess your own eating patterns and come up with self-care practice goals to try out.
- Self-care Assignment & Report: Be sure to complete all the Nutrition coursework before you apply your learning in this Self-care module. After two weeks of trying your self-care practices in this area, return and answer the report questions.
- 3.75 hours: Includes completion of the self-care assignment and report.
- What will you learn? Explore the prevalence of smoking, the health risks of smoking, the health benefits of quitting, how to identify readiness to quit, understand obstacles to tobacco cessation and understand and employ integrative approaches to treatment.
